My Visit Home: Feb- Mar 2006

Cochrane, Alberta:
My mom and I flew out to Calgary to visit my sister Malisa and her husband Matthew. She is about 6 months pregnant in these pictures. We had fun hanging out, taking walks, baking, cooking, shopping for baby things, and working. Here in this picture we are just hanging out on her couch visiting after work one afternoon. I went to work with Malisa twice and she starts work around 5am in the morning. She is a baker in a coffee shop in Cochrane, Alberta. Hmmm... muffins....  Posted by Picasa

Around the end of my visit with Malisa, we ended up wearing similar outfits: Brown sweater and blue jeans. Cute eh! So you gotta take a picture. Posted by Picasa

James and Jennifer, meeting up with them a few days after they announced their engagement and wedding plans for the summer. Canadian Prairie tradition: Coffee at Timmy's! Lovin' it!! Posted by Picasa

Going to Winnipeg, Manitoba

My sisters roomy- Carly, made this "Welcome Here Faith" sign for me, with balloons! Thanx Carly!! Posted by Picasa

Typical Cambodian street. Some are paved, and all are covered in red dust. Posted by Picasa

It's hot out in the sun. Always carry an umbrella. Posted by Picasa

Busy market streets, worse than in Taiwan. I didn't think that could happen. Posted by Picasa

The Cambodian palace in Phnom Pehn. Posted by Picasa

Humble accomodations. Most of the time something in the bathroom was broken and we hoped for clean sheets.... But I guess you cannot complain for $15 a night. Posted by Picasa

At the Killing Fields, children would stand outside the barbed wire fence begging for money. Rebecca handed out balloons and this brought smiles to the group. Be careful little boy- you will pop your balloon on the fence.... Posted by Picasa

The Killing Fields where the Cambodian Genocide happened. A museum was built with the skulls of the victims. Very graffic and gruesome. I felt very sick at the site and thought of the terrible things that happened to these innocent people. Posted by Picasa

Houses are built anywhere and everywhere- even on swamps. Posted by Picasa

The people are very poor. These houses do not have running water. Posted by Picasa

Our Tuk Tuk driver who kept asking for more money every day that he drove us. Always an adventure. Posted by Picasa
