-40 and FREEZIN'

Okay, this is ridicules. Today the temperature combined with the wind chill is -40 degrees. (I guess that is in both C and F). So with it being so cold, I have cancelled my trip to Saskatoon this afternoon. I am quite disappointed, because I was going up to see my brother Mark and his wife Emily, and Shawna and Trevor (and their new house). I hope that tomorrow is a warmer day. I would love to see them.

So today instead of driving in such beautiful conditions, I will go over and visit my neighbours, Bill and Alma. A sweet and kind couple. Alma had beaten cancer two times, she has a very interesting story. And then later, my mom and I will do some baking to warm up....

Burrrrrrrr....... Keep warm and cozy!

Home

Good to be home and it is sure sweet. The Canadian prairies are at amazing temperatures right now (actually all winter long so far this year). For my first full day in Moose Jaw I got to enjoy +6 degrees. It was beyond wonderful not to be freezin'.

Today I got to go to my home church. It was so good to see, and talk, and hug my friends. It's been a long year without them. I have missed worship in english- what a blessing today has been.

So overall, it is good to be home!!

Attention: I'm Coming Home

Well I am officially excited. I will be starting my journey home to Canada this Friday (February 10th) . I will arrive into Regina on Saturday, February 11th in the afternoon. I am pumped about being home and enjoying the Canadian lifestyle for a while... Timmy's, latte's (every morning), skating, salad's, grocery stores (WITH sour cream, pudding, cake mix, gummy bears, etc...). Ahhh.... I have a month off in between contracts. I will be returning to Taiwan in the middle of March. So during my time off in Canada I will be making trips to the Calgary area, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and staying with my 'rents in Moose Jaw!

What I'm not looking forward to is freezin' my butt off with -15 degrees temps. Everyone is telling me this is amazing temps for the prairies this time of year... ha ha!! I think NOT. I may have been one of those people at one time, but NOT ANY MORE!! Maybe I'll just set up a heater, hot chocolate dispensing machine and camp out most of the time in heavy layers and blankets. But seriously, I hope I really feel okay. A friend just got back to Taiwan a few weeks ago, he was home in Canada for christmas and he said he froze- THE WHOLE TIME... and I am thinking the temps weren't that cold... -5 degrees.... maybe. So I am trying to prepare myself now... but I am chicken and today I was walking around in +20 degree temps (here in Taiwan) with three layers on. So I am thinking... I HAVE NO CHANCE!! ha ha. But there may be a positive side to this... no sweating for a whole month- this could be good change.

Well, I hope to see you soon!!
