Faith, I stumbled across your blog this afternoon. I got really nostalgic. I spent seven years of my childhood in Taiting. I'm 27 now but I have retained fluency in Mandarin. My father was a missionary dentist at the TEAM Christian Hospital off of Chang Gwang road (spelling?).
We spent our vacations in Kenting, skin diving and enjoying the nightlife. We even went to Green Island for scuba diving trips. My siblings and I used to explore the old Japanese bunkers and cave systems in Carp Mountain. All of the usual stuff. Do they still serve icecream from the bicycle carts that have the annoying horns that go "Ba Boo." *laugh*
I love your blog and will certainly be a regular reader.
